Tapestry – Festival of Sacred Music 2023 organised by The Esplanade from Apr 28 to May 1st presented and showcased different types of sacred music from around the world. The High Commission of India in Singapore is the supporting partner for this event as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The three different types of sacred music from India this year were Chhau – Mythology in Dance from Purulia, Chod – songs of tantra from Darjeeling and Qutbi Brothers – a Qawwali group from Delhi.

The programme line-up this year was a rich array of sounds, with artists that hail from temples, mosques, shrines, churches; the mausoleums of saints, rural villages, and sacred grounds in nature. . The High Commission aims to inspire and educate people about India's glorious past, present, and future through this commemorative event.
