High Commission of India in Singapore supported Arte Compass Pte Ltd and ZEE TV APAC for the theatrical version of Ashwin Gidwani’s Devdas – The Musical at the Esplanade Theatre from 21st to 23rd April 2023 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Devdas the book is a larger-than-life and spectacular interpretation of the most famous love saga in Indian Literature, penned by legendary Indian writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Eminent British theatre director, Toby Gough is the Creative Director for this grand musical.

A Broadway-style rendition of the timeless Indian love saga, ‘Devdas - the Musical’ pulled at the heartstrings of Singaporean audiences with opulent sets, soul-stirring melodies, aerial sequences and poignant performances. This amazing musical was an immersive, heart-touching experience that incorporated mesmerising songs woven along with sensational choreography of dances.
