On 15th August, the High Commission of India organized Independence Day celebrations to mark 77 Years of India’s Independence under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav banner. Acting High Commissioner Ms. Pooja Tillu hoisted the national flag and addressed the gathering. Indian nationals, PIOs, and friends of India who were part of the gathering witnessed patriotic and colourful cultural performances. It was also an opportunity for the Indian diaspora in Singapore and the local community to come together.

Schoolchildren from various Indian International Schools participated in cultural events. Children received certificates of appreciation from Acting High Commissioner.

Indian Naval Ship “INS Kulish” was in Changi Naval Base and their Naval Band performed at the High Commission of India in Singapore during celebrations of Independence Day.
