a) Business Visa (B-1 or B-2) is granted to
(i) Foreign nationals who wish to visit India to establish an industrial/business venture or to explore possibilities to set up such venture and for all business-related meetings. The applicant should be a person of assured financial standing and with expertise in the field of the intended business. It is not granted for petty trading.
(ii) Foreign nationals coming to India to purchase/sell industrial products or commercial products or consumer durables.
(iii) Foreign nationals coming to India for recruitment of manpower
(iv) Foreign nationals coming to India for consultations regarding exhibitions or for participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, business fairs etc.
(v) Foreign trainees of multinational companies/corporate houses coming for in-house training in the regional hubs of the concerned company located in India.
(vi) Foreign academicians/ experts coming under GIAN (Global Initiative for Academic Networks).
Note: such foreign academicians/ experts would be required to submit the following three additional documents along with the visa application: -
(a) Invitation of the host institute to the foreign faculty,
(b) Copy of the sanction order under GIAN issued by the National Coordinating Institute viz. IIT Kharagpur,
(c) Copy of the synopsis of the courses to be taken up by the faculty.
(vii) Crew members of scheduled/ non-scheduled flights operated by scheduled airlines, non-scheduled and chartered flights operated by non-scheduled airlines and special flights
(viii) Foreign nationals intending to visit India to participate in cultural events/ activities with remuneration.
Note: Such foreign nationals intending to visit India to participate in cultural events/ activities for short duration without remuneration may be granted Entry (X-Misc.) Visa.
Normally, the Business Visa is issued from the country of origin, or from the country of domicile of the foreigner, provided the period of permanent residence of the applicant is more than 2 years in Singapore.
Documents required for B-1 or B-2 Visas:
Applicants for business visa (B-1 or B-2) are required to attach the following documents with the print out of the online visa application form: -
1. Invitation letter from the relevant Indian company and recommendation letter from the Singapore Company are mandatory.
2. Certificate of incorporation of the Indian company and ACRA details of the Singapore company is to be submitted.
3. There is some additional proforma/forms to filled up diligently by the applicants for certain nationalities. The additional proforma/forms are available at the IVAC.
4. One latest colour photograph in white background (size 2" x 2").
5. Original passport with validity at least 6 months and photocopy of the passport bio-page.
6. Copy of NRIC/EP/WP/SP
7. For non-Singaporean nationals, please attach ICA issued NRIC/FIN card copy (old also if applicable) to show duration of continuous permanent stay in Singapore. The processing time for Business Visa for non-Singapore nationals also varies and takes longer in some case.

b) Business (B-3 Sports) Visa is granted to
All sportspersons, Sports officials, Coaches and trainers going to India for participation in commercial/ non-commercial sporting events accompanying the players need to apply for Business (B-3 Sports) visa.
Foreign nationals who are taken on contract to play in commercial sports events in India like IPL, ISL, IBL etc with remuneration may also apply for multiple entry, Business (B-3 Sports) Visa. Such foreign nationals shall also be required to comply with all the statutory obligations like payment of taxes etc.. They need to submit documents in support of tax compliance on previous visits, if any, along with other documents, while applying for subsequent Visas.
Documents required for B-3 Sports Visas:
Applicants for Business visa (B-3 Sports) are required to attach the following documents along with the print out of the online visa application form: -
1. Approval of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Department of Sports), Government of India.
2. Clearance for holding the event from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Political Clearance for holding the event from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, if applicable.
3. Invitation letter issued to the foreign sports team and sports persons to visit India by the concerned Sports Federation/ Association in India.
4. Recommendation letter for Visa from Singapore (local) sports body/ organization.
5. One latest colour photograph in white background (size 2" x 2").
6. Original passport with validity at least 6 months and photocopy of the passport bio-page.
7. Copy of NRIC/EP/WP/SP
