Before You Apply

General Information Regarding Passport Services


Applications for passport related services should be submitted in person at the designated Passport Application Centres appointed by the High Commission. (Please visit for more details.)

The High Commission of India (HCI) does not normally accept applications for passport at its premises, except through a limited number of appointments. These are available for both non-tatkaal and tatkaal services. For non-tatkaal services, applicants will be served at the BLS counter in HCI (Service charges are payable to BLS). For all ‘Tatkaal’ services, additional Tatkaal fees are applicable at HCI Counters. The appointments can be booked at:, by clicking on the tab: Online appointment System for Consular Services, or 

In exceptional and dire emergencies, we make efforts to provide services even outside normal working hours. An Additional fee is payable for such emergency services. In case of an emergency during public holidays or beyond working hours, we can be reached at +65 62382538. This is a number meant for emergencies; so please use it with discretion.

Kindly note that all fee is payable in CASH at the High Commission and at the Passport Application Centres. Facility for payment by credit card/NETS is not available (but we are making efforts to introduce such a facility in the near future). The nearest ATM is in SP Services Building (111, Somerset Road) and at SCAPE Building 2nd floor. Please look at the fee table for various services and bring the required cash for the service you require.

Facilities for taking instant photographs, photocopying and coin exchange are available on payment basis at the High Commission premises.

Eligibility Criteria for Passport Related Services (Who can Avail)

Indian Nationals/Expatriates who are working or residing in Singapore with valid residential status (Permanent Resident, Employment pass, Work Permit holder, long term visit pass holders and Visitors whose passport is damaged, expired or lost) are eligible to obtain Passport-related Services at the High Commission of India, Singapore, and at any one of the Passport Application Centres authorized by the High Commission (managed by M/s. BLS International). Applicants on short-term visit status in Singapore are not eligible for passport or visa services at the High Commission.

Services available only at HCI Singapore and not at Passport Application Centres

Issue of travel documents (Passport and Emergency Certificate) in lieu of Lost/Damaged Passports of visitors. In such cases, please apply for an appointment directly at the High Commission.
