Marriage Certificate


To obtain a Letter of Marriage Certificate the following documents are required:

  1. 1. Applicants must come in person to apply for Marriage certificate.
  2. 2. Before applying for marriage certificate, the spouse’s name/either of the one is to be included in the passport.
  3. 3. A declaration letter, mentioning the purpose of the application and signed by both the spouses must be submitted. If one of the spouses is in India, a copy of passport, IC and no objection certificate/affidavit signed by the spouse who is in India to be attached along with application.
  4. 4. Original Passports, IC (EP, WP, SPASS, PR, DP and others) of both the spouses and photocopies of the same.
  5. 5. Original and a copy of marriage registrar certificate issued in India must be submitted.
  6. 6. In case marriage registrar certificate is not available, documentary evidence of marriage like Wedding Card, Affidavit from Notary public or any gazette officer in India (must bring in original and photocopy of the proof) to be submitted along with the application.
  7. 7. Indian national married to a foreign national also can apply for Marriage certificate.
  8. 8. Processing time is 3 to 5 working days and subject to approval. Fee applicable is S$30 in cash only.

Note: For Emergency Services, an additional emergency fee of S$100 is applicable. Processing time is 2 working days.
