India Exim Bank BRICS Economic Research Award 2023

 During India’s chairmanship of the BRICS Forum in 2016, the Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank), being the nominated member development bank from India under the BRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism (ICM), had instituted the India Exim Bank BRICS Economic Research Annual Award [BRICS Award].

2. The objective of the Award is to encourage and stimulate advanced doctoral research by nationals of the BRICS countries, on economics related topics of relevance to the member nations of BRICS. The unique annual Award has, over the last seven years, gained much recognition, appreciation and wide visibility among the BRICS nations.

3. The Award sponsored by India Exim Bank, which comprises of a citation, medal and prize money of Indian Rupees 1.5 million (equivalent) (approximately USD 20,000), accepts as entries, doctoral theses written by nationals of any of the five member nations of BRICS, who have been awarded a doctorate or accepted for award of a doctorate in economics from any University or academic institution globally, during the period January 2018 to March 2023. The detailed brochure can be found below for reference. The last date for receipt of the applications for the Award is March 31, 2023. 

4. It is envisaged to formally announce the Award winner during the BRICS Annual Financial Forum 2023, scheduled to be hosted by South Africa during the year.
