Relief assistance from Indian community of Singapore

Emergency relief material comprising of #Oxygen cylinders, concentrators and ISO Cryogenic tanks were loaded on board Indian Navy’s INS Airavat which arrived in Singapore on 2 May from Vizag as part of Operation Samudra Setu 2. The ship set sail on 5 May for its return journey from Changi Naval Base to India.

The relief material comprises of 3650 oxygen cylinders of varying capacities. This consignment is the result of efforts and contributions from IIT Alumni Association, Singapore; Singapore India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), Adani Global, Wilhelmsen Ships Services, Dupont Sustainable Solutions, Global Indian International School, Singapore, DBS Bank, SEA Group, Wilmar International and Galaxy Container Service Pte Ltd. The shipment also consists of 8 ISO Cryogenic oxygen Tanks which are a part of separate commercial agreements between Tata Group, ITC and Linde Gas Ltd.

The High Commission of India appreciates the tremendous efforts of the Indian Community members and well-wishers of India in Singapore for mobilising essential relief assistance for COVID 19 mitigation efforts in India.

The High Commission of India in Singapore continues its efforts for timely and seamless coordination between all Indian and Singaporean agencies for necessary clearances. We also thank Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Enterprise Singapore, Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) for their role in facilitating the transportation.

The relief efforts are set to continue over the next few days as a second Naval Ship from Indian Navy will be coming to port. Airlifts of tanks are also being scheduled over the next week.
